Cost per Liter

If you could buy breast milk by the liter from the corner store, how much would it cost?

Answer:
According to the economist Julie Smith, breast milk is worth approximately AUD50 a liter. Based on 1992 Australian figures, Smith estimates that Australian women produced 33 million kilograms, worth AUD2.2 billion to the economy, which is about 0.5 percent of the GDP. Since 1993 Norway has included human milk output in its annual reports on national food production. It is the only country to do so.

Fresh Milk ~ Fiona Giles

I've been the sole milk supplier to my baby and I've ever thought about this - breast milk as a commodity. Adding love and intimacy on top of that 50 bucks, the milk "sold" to my baby would be priceless.

Shattered

I think I have slippery hands. Or you may call it clumsy. I broke the lid of my Tefal pan in the last month of 2008 while doing the dishes and I'm yet to find the replacement for it.

For the first month of 2009, my drinking glass refused to let me clean it that it rather slipped and killed itself, shattered into tiny pieces all over the sink. It's a sign that doing dishes is not my expertise. I need a dish washer to rescue the innocent items in the kitchen. Too much casualties in my humble flat.

The death of the drinking glass made me realize how much I love Ikea. No pressure of breaking stuff and I always know that I can get a replacement in a pack of 6... more for me to break!
