If you noticed that the entries in my blogs are shown as distorted codes(中文乱码), it's due to cross-blogging between Blogger and Multiply.
The idea of cross-blogging is excellent, for the fact that most users are using different social network services online. This has reduced tremendous effort from all the users who've been trying to keep all the entries in different website in sync and updated.
The cross-blogging feature within Multiply and Blogger allows users to cross-posting their blogs from (and to) both websites.
For example, provided the settings have been done correctly, you can either
1. Blog from Blogger
2. Blog from Multiply
On "Publish" on Blogger or "Save and Publish" at Multiply, the blogs will be posted to BOTH websites, all you need to go is to click on the refresh button on your browser and your blog sites will be updated.
It seems that Multiply has not done enough testing on cross-blogging features with different languages. I've tried both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, non of them are showing in Multiply correctly except the header (cross-blogging from Blogger to Multiply).
Last night spent some time to work out this annoying issue. Some of you might have seen my "test cross blog" entries, which have been removed now. It seems that I need to live with this flaw at the moment. The followings are some points to ponder, if you are cross-blogging.
1. Chinese language is shown perfectly if you cross blog from Multiply to Blogger.
2. Comments in both blogsites are not featured in cross-blogging. There is no way (that I know of) to integrate Comments cross-blogging.
3. The time and date shown on your postings depends on the settings of your blog sites. It's the "receiving time of postings", not the time specified in your original blog.
4. If you "Edit" oe "Delete" published blogs, the changes will not be cross-blogged.
5. Graphics work perfectly when cross-blog.
There are still a few items to try, such as Polling. I dont think Polling works in Blogger for cross-blogging.
There are good things, bad things... and all softwares need enhancements....
hmm... at least import photos from Yahoo works well, but all the albums have been pre-selected. In my memory (which is quite reliable most of the time), I couldn't find a button to de-select all, which is a very basic feature. Good luck if you have too many photo albums...
Multiply... really need some serious testers....
