Video CV

When you are doing something, you'll be fed by the news in that area... I've resigned from work and now starting to update my CV to apply for jobs (ya... i'm the lazy ones... now i have to find out what i've accomplished at work...)

This news caught my eyes... it's in Chinese about a video CV sent by a Yale Uni senior year student Aleksey Vayner to USB AG (Wallstreet investment company). You've seen it in Legally Blonde and now it's in reality... but in a funny way.

Chinese News

Someone has leaked the CV and forwarded it. From there, it traveled to different organizations, and even to the congress, later to Youtube.

News from Forbes

Though Aleksey Vayner lied in his video CV, recruitment agencies think that the idea is brilliant. From there, recruitment companies like Jobster has adopted his idea and now there's a trend for Video CV.

However, everything has a catch.

To prevent from being sued by the applicants for discriminations, most companies do not accept resumes and CV attached with your lovely photos. Some have even gone to the extreme of not publishing the names in the CV, because one can guess the race of a person from the names. This is common in the states and some Western countries, but still in Asia it's common to submit your photos in the resumes.

Video CV... appealing? Yes. Do it? nah... not for me...

Here comes Aleksey Vayner.

Here's a peep show for it.

Wiki for this.
